Our Process

Furniture Construction Process 1

Purba Furniture in Canada prides itself in hand-crafting a variety of solid woods – Eastern Maple, Red Oak and Ambrosia Maple. We do not use particle board or MDF for any part of our construction method.  Solid wood allows for longevity for your furniture and allows it to be re-finished over time. With true craftsman precision each piece is built with pride to ensure it will last for generations.

All raw wood is kiln dried to reduce moisture content and prevent drying out and cracking.

Using proven joining techniques, dovetailed drawers and ¾” real wood backings, we guarantee your furniture will be durable and long lasting.  In addition, all drawer boxes have full extension ball- bearing glides, which give the furniture pieces strength and durability that give it that smooth high quality feel. Metal bed brackets are used on all bed corners for easy and solid assembly. Hinges, handles and knobs are all of high quality and hand installed to ensure correct fit and placement.

The final step on all pieces is a complete hand sanding to smooth out rough spots and edges followed by staining the product.  Once each product is stained and dried it is then sealed. Once the seal has dried it is once again hand sanded to smooth out rough spots and edges followed by a final coat of high sheen lacquer.

This gives the furniture a rich, soft look and ensures the wood is protected. These techniques ensure that the furniture pieces will look great for decades to come.
